The Yushan High Mountain Oolong Tea Story

We almost drove past the monastery. Tucked into the mountainside on the road through Yushan, it was a place to stretch after hours of driving. A man welcomed us in and offered tea — and the tea was exceptional. He was the one growing it. A third-generation tea farmer, he gives his time and his harvest to the monastery and its visitors, offering tea as an act of service, not business. That care shows in every cup: clean, high-grown, and layered, with no attempt to standardize or over-process. This tea is small batch and sourced directly from him. Because his focus is quality and tradition rather than volume, what we can offer is limited.
