Flavor and Aroma Profile of Teas

Tea with a soul

  • Our founders and team personally visit every farm we source from. Here at the Uji Kyoto Tea Gardens. This is a 16th generation farmhold

  • Our teas are grown by small hold farmers. Most often it's generational legacy they are committed to preserve.
  • Every cup you savor has been been brewed in a tea ritual and tasted in the laboratory of love in a sit down with the farmer

Origin Story

  • Japan
  • Nestled between Kyoto and Lake Biwa, Uji is one of Japan’s most revered tea regions, with a history of cultivation stretching over 800 years. Its misty river valleys, mineral-rich water, and ideal climate create the perfect conditions for growing tea of exceptional quality—vibrant in color, rich in umami, and smooth on the palate.

Uji is celebrated for both ceremonial matcha and high-grade sencha, a region where centuries of tradition meet meticulous craftsmanship.

Our matcha comes from a family-owned tea shop in the heart of Uji, where the art of tea making has been lovingly passed down through 16 generations.

Walking through their fields, you can feel the care in every leaf, nurtured by the rich soil and perfected by the region’s unique climate. Every scoop of this matcha carries not just the flavor of Uji, but the story of its people and their centuries-old dedication to the craft.
