The Himalayan Calm Collection Story

The two teas in this collection begin as the same leaf.

What changes everything is timing.

In Jyntru, Meghalaya, Marbah Warjri tends the garden his grandfather planted. Shade-grown under gooseberry trees at 900 meters, the leaves are processed entirely on-site at his Delmar Tea Garden.

Himalayan Mountain Green

Picked and pan-fired within hours. Oxidation halted early — the leaf stays close to what it was on the plant. Floral, clean, gently sweet. Barely any astringency.

Himalayan Mountain Black

The same leaf, given time. A slow, full oxidation — far removed from the CTC factories that dominate Indian production. Dark honey, toast, a warmth that settles in and stays.

The difference isn't where it's grown. It's when it's made.

Meghalaya — "abode of clouds" — sits at 4,000ft where heavy monsoons and acidic soil produce aromatic spices.

Frequently Asked Questions

This set includes two single-origin teas from the same family farm in Meghalaya, northeast India — a bold whole-leaf black tea and a delicate shade-grown green tea. Both are grown by Marbah Warjri, whose family has farmed these hills for three generations.
Not quite — the black tea brews best at 100°C for a full, malty cup, while the green tea does better at 80°C to preserve its natural sweetness and floral notes. Both use about 3g per 240ml of water.
We suggest starting with the green tea — its lighter, cleaner character lets you appreciate the terroir before moving to the deeper, more complex black. That said, there's no wrong order.
The green tea is certified organic and shade-grown under gooseberry trees at 900m elevation. The black tea is grown using traditional methods on the same farm. Neither uses pesticides — both are lab tested.
Each tea in the set is 75g, which brews approximately 30 cups each — giving you around 60 cups total across both teas.
Yes, green tea contains caffeine, though less than black tea or coffee. Best enjoyed morning through afternoon.
Most commercial black teas use CTC or broken-leaf processing, which brews fast but tastes harsh. Whole-leaf tea steeps slower and smoother, giving you a richer, cleaner cup with more complexity.
