2025 Harvest Details (Autumn Flush): This Meghalaya Green Tea is harvested during the Autumn Flush, a season when the tea leaves mature slowly, allowing them to develop complex flavors. The cooler temperatures and misty mornings contribute to the tea’s mild, slightly sweet taste and its refreshing, aromatic character. The autumn flush also yields a smaller, but more concentrated harvest, resulting in superior leaf quality and distinct flavors.

Brewing Guide:

  • Amount: Use 1 teaspoon of leaves for every 8 oz of water.
  • Water Temperature: Steep at 80°C (176°F) to preserve the delicate flavors of the green tea.
  • Steeping Time: Allow the leaves to steep for 2-3 minutes for the perfect infusion.

Marbah, the current owner, took over his family’s business, which was originally established by his grandfather and passed down to his parents. Located in the serene village of Jyntru in the Ribhoi district of Meghalaya, this multi-generational tea garden is surrounded by lush forests and stunning natural beauty, making it feel like it’s in the middle of nowhere—peaceful and pristine.

    The plantation, which is certified organic, thrives under the shade of gooseberry trees, creating a harmonious ecosystem that enhances the unique flavor profile of the tea. The region’s elevation and temperate climate contribute to the distinctiveness of the leaves, while the surrounding forest offers an undisturbed environment that nourishes both the tea plants and the land.
