How did it all start?

Our journey began, as many do, around a shared meal.
Over dinner with our friend John, I found myself reminiscing about my Ma and Aaita (grandmother) sourcing spices directly from farmers in bustling markets, the air thick with earthy aromas, every ingredient carrying stories and tradition. John shared memories of the teas his mother brought from Taiwan and Vietnam, each cup steeped in connection.
Then my partner said simply, "Why not share these treasures with the world?"
The idea took root instantly. But the challenge was real: How do you connect small farmers in remote villages to people across the globe?
Ten months of conversations with farmers, countless tastings, and late-night planning sessions later, Living Roots was born, a bridge between the traditions we grew up with and the kitchens of people who value where their food comes from.
Because some flavors are too precious to keep to ourselves.
